Dit is een kader dat door de Europese Commissie is opgezet om elektronische facturering en e-procurement te veralgemenen. Om een \u200b\u200bbeetje te vereenvoudigen, fungeert PEPPOL als een adresboek dat de verzending van elektronische facturen van de ene machine naar de andere organiseert. Het moet het mogelijk maken om commerci\u00eble transacties tussen overheden en hun leveranciers, inclusief facturering, te dematerialiseren.
