What is Peppol?

Peppol is a secure global e-invoicing network that facilitates cross-border transactions thanks to efficient technological standards.
Co-founded in 2008 by the European Commission, its first mission is to harmonize and facilitate e-procurement between government agencies and their suppliers. Today, nearly 800,000 companies use Peppol, in both B2B and B2G, because of its many advantages.

The use of Peppol for B2B transactions will soon become mandatory in many European countries. In Belgium, for example, from January 1 2026, businesses will be required to issue and receive their invoices exclusively through the Peppol-network.
